This bursary is available for students pursuing BEng or BSc degrees in:

Civil Engineering

Environmental Science

Geochemistry

Geology

 

 WHAT THE BURSARY COVERS

At a minimum, the bursary will cover your tuition fees. It may also help with accommodation and textbooks (though there’s a limit on that).

 

Additionally, recipients will enjoy:

 

6 weeks of paid vacation work in July or December at J&W’s offices in Rivonia or Centurion

A work-back contract, meaning you’ll need to work at J&W for the same length of time that you received funding

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible to apply, you need to:

Be a South African citizen

Be in Matric (2025) or have already completed it

Plan to study in 2026 (or be currently enrolled) in one of the specified BEng/BSc fields

Attend or intend to attend a recognized South African university

Have a solid academic record

Score at least 75% in Mathematics and Physical Science (Grade 11 or 12)

Show financial need

Preference will be given to students who support Black Economic Empowerment (BEE).
